NCAA - College Athletics Openings ProjectSeptember 2nd -
The NCAA Collegiate Athletics Openings research project was for me to look and compile information using the job qualifications, requirements and responsibilities within the Assistant Athletic Directors positions. As I was going through the different positions, I found it to be an eye opening experience looking and applying for positions within the Sports Management Area. It gave me the opportunity to know what the colleges and universities are looking for on the Assistant levels. Majority of the openings needed experience, where as the rest were entry level and part time. I compiled the information and completed an NCAA - The Market Careers in College Athletes Book. The book is attached below.
After completing the project, the discussion with Derrick was very enlightening because he informed me that the way students can get there foot in the door to these positions. He stated that students can go to the NCAA web to look for Graduate Assistants or Internships to gain the experience needed for the positions. In doing so, it may be a little easier to obtain a position from the NCAA web site or any collegiate level.
